...About Andrew
Andrew Farrand originally hails from the great city of Baltimore,
Maryland, USA, though these days he rarely spends much time there. From 2003 to 2008, he studied and worked in the international affairs field in Washington, DC, where he met Jacqueline. She and Andrew lived together in Morocco from September 2008 through December 2009. After a brief visit to Ethiopia in early 2010, they have resettled in Washington, DC.
Nothing excites Andrew more than traveling (though good food is a close second). He also loves the challenge of foreign languages, enjoys sports, cycling, and the great outdoors, and spends much of his free time reading and writing.

...About the Blog
Since Andrew began traveling years ago (particularly to some less well-known parts of the world), many have asked him, "Why can't you just stay home?"
This blog seeks to answer that question, by showing armchair travelers back home what they're missing and why Andrew travels. It is updated frequently, and is a constant work in progress.
The blog's name references Ibn Battuta, the great Moroccan traveler.
The lead photograph comes from the deserts of southern Jordan and, like all the text, images, videos, and other content on the site, is original content and is protected under a Creative Commons 3.0 unported license. Andrew's writing is his own, and does not represent the views of any employer.
